Brief Description
Dr Akoun is an accomplished research scientist whose contributions in research development at the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), Ibadan, Nigeria spanned over three (3) decades. His area of research interests were in Tree improvement, and the establishment of Exotic tree species through provenance research.
Dr Akoun is also an Horticulturist who majored in Olericulture (vegetable growing). Apart from being a scientist, he has occupied various post; as a Head of Department of Horticulture and Landscape Technology at the Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan, and later became a Provost of the same College, and he was also a Research Coordinator at FRIN.
He joined Dominion University as a Senior Lecturer in Biological Sciences in 2019, and currently the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University. Dr Akoun is married with children
