Courtesy Visit to the Chief Medical Director, UCH, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
The meeting commenced at 12.30pm with the arrival of the guests; members of the Planning and Implementation Committee (PIC) of Dominion University, members of the Board of Trustees and other staff members. Bishop T.V. first expressed gratitude for the privilege of such a meeting and went ahead to introduce members of his team; Pastor (Mrs) Dolapo Adelakun, wife and member of PIC, the Interim VC, Prof Adedoyin Soyibo, Dr. Osasona; member of the Planning and Implementation Committee, Dr. Joe Akoun, Elder Bode Oyelami; members of the Board of Trustees, Barr. O.I. Aleru and Barr. A.A. Adetoyinbo-liaison officers, and Mr Abiola Oladele, the P.A. to the Chancellor. The Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo warmly welcomed the Dominion University team and apologized for the default in electrical power and slight inconveniences.
The Chancellor of Dominion University, Bishop T.V. Adelakun gave his introductory address on the progress of Dominion University since its licensing on February 5th, 2019 at Abuja-a 13 year journey. He also reiterated the position of University College Hospital as a model institution. He intimated the CMD on the position of Dominion University, to start Health Sciences in second year of academic operations and thus requested for adjunct staff members and open doors to facilities, particularly for Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science. He mentioned that the Vice Chancellor of the university will further in correspondences of that nature.
The Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, apologized for the absence of members of his management team and introduced a member of the latter board present, Dr. Kamorudeen Siyanbola. He said UCH had open arms to Dominion University, and an agreement of requests made will be verified by both parties. He applauded the caliber of people on the Dominion University management team and added that the courses and all areas of requests placed by DU be well specified and written in a formal letter.
Prof Olayinka assured that UI will render all the necessary support needed by and heed to all the requests made by Dominion University, especially since he knows Prof Soyibo and Prof Egbokhare well from the University of Ibadan experience.
The meeting ended with group photographs taken of the members present at the meeting from both sides.
